Good theory – bad application

Where do you see poor execution of positive thoughts?

In contrast to clearly negative things (bad theory – badly applied), things are cited here which they perceived ambivalently: good in terms of the basic idea, but which the group carried out badly. Quite often, it was formulated as pairs of opposites. This form is therefore carried over into this summary:

  • Brotherly love (intense community) < - > At the cost of starting a family
  • Spiritual interest for others < - > Control and surveillance
  • Unity < - > Conformity
  • Living with commitment and putting oneself into [service] < - > Neglecting sleep and rest
  • Everyone is a sibling < - > de facto privileged position of Gottfried Holic and later of the “older siblings”
  • Commitment < - > Restrictions for the individual are much too narrow
  • Expulsion as helping a person to repent < - > de facto writing a person off and casting him aside
  • Devotion to God < - > Emphasis on achievement and pressure to appear to be holy
  • Evaluation < - > Often became judgment
  • Righteousness < - > Lack of tactfulness and empathy
  • Daily community < - > No personal freedom or private sphere
